I didn't take as many pictures as I should have with this one, but I'll walk you through it!

Start off by parting half of the hair from ear to ear. Then tie off little sections. Next, do the same to the top. (This is where you can get creative.) I did straight parts on bottom, but a grid on top. You can keep this simple and just stick with straight parts if you want.

*Sorry, This is where I should have had a picture without everything connected. At this point it should just look like a bunch of sectioned off pieces, and the hair should just all hang in little ponies every where.

This part looks tricky, but it is really simple. Combine the top section and bottom section, by twisting once and adding in to the next section. Meet the sections at the back of the head and tie off with an elastic.

And of coarse, add a flower!

Snake Grass Side Pony!

1. Start with a part off to the side.

2. Next, divide sections from crown off head, around to opposite ear, adding them to the next section as you go.

4. If you want it to dress it up, you can also braid or twist in between each section.

5. Add a HUGE flower! I bought this one on sale at Joannes Fabric, and hot glued it to a large alligator clip from Sally's!

Simple Wedding 'Do

My daughters were flower girls for a wedding this weekend so I thought I'd post their hair. I wasn't planning on doing this but ended up with about an hour to do both their hair (and mine!). So here's an easy, but dressy style- especially with a big bow or flower to match :)

Part on the side and start on the small side with a french braid. Finish that braid at the ear with and elastic. Pull the rest across and elastic it all together, then finish with a messy bun.-!

3 Twists to Piggies

This I just kinda' did as I went, but I guess it turned out OK. Start with the middle triangle and twist (cork-screw I think is what people call it) to one side, hold with elastic. Then do the same with the other 2 triangles and have them twist to the opposite sides. Pull them into piggies and make messy buns!

Puffy Piggies

This is super easy but I do it all the time so I figured it should be on here-. Part the piggies how you like, (make sure they're low) then loop them upside down. Curl the ends back over top, rat (alot!) and hairspray.

2 Braid Headbands

If anyone stills reads this blog, here's my attempt to get back in the groove of trying new styles. I have others to post, but we were in Mexico last week and there was a beautiful lady with her hair done like this. Needless to say, I was excited to come home and try it! It's pretty self-explanatory :)

One-Sided French Braid

This is just like any french braid but you take from only one side (in this case the right only). Part each section that you're bringing up all the way across then bring it into the braid. When it's the left side's turn just keep braiding normal. (Sorry I don't explain well!) Finish it how you like, I usually loop her's 'cause her hair is so long, then curl the back :) I like that it gives a little different look and the braid is set back a bit.

Small Triangle French Braid

This start out with a triangle up front and pull the rest back. French braid at an angel and keep braiding to the end. At this point you could leave like this or loop the braid back up and curl the ends. Today was a windy day so I pulled the braid back into a half ponytail, then took out the elastic holding the end of the braid. :)

Head of Twists

My daughter loves all of her hair up so we did a bunch of twists on her. Nothing special, but I kinda' liked how it turned out :)
Also, a while ago someone asked how to get straight parts (not that these last pictures were a great example!). In my opinion the comb is everything. I love the black "Ace" rat-tail just from Walmart. It has sharp teeth, even at the end, so it parts nice and precise. Also, if you have ponies that don't stay in, it's probably because the elastic isn't very strong. I love these "Goody" medium sized ones (again from Walmart or somewhere similiar). Some elastics are weak and stretch way too easily. My girls have thick hair so it takes a lot to keep their ponies in (the picture rotated on its own and I couldn't figure out how to fix it- sorry!)- Hopefully this helps a little :)

French Braid into Twists...

I apologize for all of my weird names for these hair do's.

I started off with damp hair. I like to run some of this Vitamin E Moulding Creme through her hair first. It not only protects it from breakage, it also keeps all of those pesky fly aways down.

Start off by parting the hair and french braid into two ponies.( I like to do wacky parts, but you can part it how you like.)

Next divide the ponies into three sections, twist them, and tie them off with an elastic.

Do this to each pony...

Then pull the twisted sections back up into the main pony,

Curl the remaining hair,

and add HUGE bows!!!

Topsy Tail Madness....

Sorry The pictures are so blahhh...

Start off by doing four Topsy Tails at the front of the hair line. Part into squares and pull through.

Next Pull all the hair into a pony tail and pull up into a large Topsy Tail, pulling through the bottom to give the pony more height.

Pull tight....

Curl Pony tail in ringlets...

Spray to hold, and there you have it. So many people asked me if she had a hair piece in that day. I love how full the backward Topsy tail and the ringlets made it!

CRISS CROSS BRAIDS TO PIGGIES

So I have been snooping on other hair blogs and there are some really talented hair do-ers out there. I found this and thought I would give it a try. I think it turned out pretty cute. So just part front of hair down the middle, then part each side once again. Braid each section and elastic at the end.
I did one piggy at a time, just pulling the opposite sides's braids and adding them into the elastic. Then just do the same to the other side. Make some messy buns and add some big bows and you're all done.

Messy Bun

First off, I have to give full credit to my friend, Megan, for showing me these. She does hair for weddings, dances, etc... She is VERY talented and alot of what I do I learned from her :). Anyway, there are a lot of ways to do messy buns -these are just our version!

pull through into messy piggies

So simple but adds a little more to pig tails. So just center two pull throughs then split the second one into two messy piggies. I personally like it better with just one pull through, but I thought we would see what it looked like with two. Mal has loads of short baby hairs in the front so this helps to keep them back!! Enjoy!

Another Bun Variation

This one start with an upside down pull through so all the hair is up top. Twist it all the same direction and wrap around the base and secure with bobby pins. This stays really well if the hair is really wet to begin with-!

Square French Braid to Piggies

I'll admit I've been very lazy with hair these last few weeks. We've had swimming lessons, trips, etc. But this is simple and fast. Part a square on the top and while holding the rest of the hair back, french braid at a diagnol and finish the braid to the bottom. Part the rest into piggies and add the braid to that side, then take out the elastic from the braid.

All Laced Up...

I didn't take step by step pictures, but I'll try my best to explain.
Start at the neck line on this one, then part hair in half. Next pull one half to the side while you work on the other. Separate into squares and add each piece to the next in a crisscross pattern all the way up! Curl the left over hair and pin up in messy buns and of coarse add some cute and gigantic hair bows!
