French Braid into Twists...

I apologize for all of my weird names for these hair do's.

I started off with damp hair. I like to run some of this Vitamin E Moulding Creme through her hair first. It not only protects it from breakage, it also keeps all of those pesky fly aways down.

Start off by parting the hair and french braid into two ponies.( I like to do wacky parts, but you can part it how you like.)

Next divide the ponies into three sections, twist them, and tie them off with an elastic.

Do this to each pony...

Then pull the twisted sections back up into the main pony,

Curl the remaining hair,

and add HUGE bows!!!

Topsy Tail Madness....

Sorry The pictures are so blahhh...

Start off by doing four Topsy Tails at the front of the hair line. Part into squares and pull through.

Next Pull all the hair into a pony tail and pull up into a large Topsy Tail, pulling through the bottom to give the pony more height.

Pull tight....

Curl Pony tail in ringlets...

Spray to hold, and there you have it. So many people asked me if she had a hair piece in that day. I love how full the backward Topsy tail and the ringlets made it!

and of coarse it couldn't be my post without a HUGE hair bow to top it off.

Small Diagnol Knot

Start with parting the whole square then part it in half and secure the back half with clip, elastic etc.. Take the front section and tie in a knot just like you would a piece of string. It won't stay in by itself so pull it tight and connect it to the second section with an elastic.

Holding still....

I was just thinking the other day that every time I'm at a store or somewhere the first thing people say is NOT, "how did you do that", but "HOW DID YOU GET THEM TO HOLD STILL"?? It's easy now, I just let them choose a movie, but a few years ago it wasn't so easy. Here's just a few ideas to get your toddler to hold still. Eventually they just get use to the fact that they're going to get their hair done every morning! We would love to hear any of your ideas also!


1- My sister use to set her daughter on the edge of the bathroom sink and turn on the water just a little and let her splash her feet in it (before you get her completely dressed of course!)


2- I know one mom who kept a little jar of playdough in the bathroom that was only used when fixing hair. -I'm OK with that as long as it didn't end up IN the hair :)

3- Do her hair in the high-chair while eating breakfast (or playing with toys).

4- Pull out a bottle of lotion that is almost gone.

5- Keep a box of braceletts, watches etc. to play with.

Last, know exactly what you are going to do before you even touch her hair! They are usually not very forgiving if you want to start over :)

CRISS CROSS BRAIDS TO PIGGIES

So I have been snooping on other hair blogs and there are some really talented hair do-ers out there. I found this and thought I would give it a try. I think it turned out pretty cute. So just part front of hair down the middle, then part each side once again. Braid each section and elastic at the end.
I did one piggy at a time, just pulling the opposite sides's braids and adding them into the elastic. Then just do the same to the other side. Make some messy buns and add some big bows and you're all done.

Messy Bun

First off, I have to give full credit to my friend, Megan, for showing me these. She does hair for weddings, dances, etc... She is VERY talented and alot of what I do I learned from her :). Anyway, there are a lot of ways to do messy buns -these are just our version!
